Tonight is the long-awaited opening ceremony for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Google decided to mark the occasion with a Google Doodle that makes a bold human rights statement.

We continued talking about pet overpopulation as part of our Cause of the Quarter work. Tracy introduced us to Sampson and a few Vanguardians volunteered to staff the Washington Humane Society‘s “Sugar and Champagne Affair,” where they made some adorable friends.
